Mobile App "Weather Forecast" (by Noel Mega)

The mobile application "Weather Forecast" (hereinafter referred to as the application), during use, as well as in the background, collects, processes, transmits and stores user data of clients of the application (hereinafter referred to as the subject of user data, user) in order to obtain statistical information about the working of the application, for improving the quality of the application and for providing the necessary technical support to users.

Information about the location (geolocation) of the device is considered personal and confidential data of the user (hereinafter referred to as personal data). The application, during use, and in the background, receives, stores and transmits location information. Without information about the location, the application cannot be used. When first launched, the application asks the user for permission to use device location information.

The owner of the application respects the rights of the subject of user and personal data regarding the processing of his data and in order to make a decision on granting consent to such processing, the owner of the application informs about the following:

This Privacy Policy contains basic information regarding the processing of user and personal data and the use of cookies for visitors (potential customers) and users (engaged customers) of the application, website and application services.

BASIC TERMS

user (subject of user and personal data) – an individual (application client) using the application, website and application services;

personal data – сinformation or a collection of information about the user that specifically identifies the user;

user data – information provided by the user, as well as information obtained during his work, including information about the device. This information may partially identify the user;

application - a set of programs consisting of the “Weather Forecast” mobile application (which runs on the user’s mobile device) and the “Weather Forecast Server” server application (which runs on the service computer).

application services - services provided by the application: providing weather forecast information by location, providing air quality information by location, providing geomagnetic index information, etc. This information can be obtained both when using the application directly and in the background mode;

background mode - a special application execution mode when the user is not explicitly using the application. In this mode, the application keeps the user's location and weather information up to date.

processing of personal data – any action or set of actions, such as: collection, registration, accumulation, storage, adaptation, modification, updating, use and distribution (distribution, implementation, transfer), depersonalization, destruction of personal data, including the use of automated information systems;

PURPOSE AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

During use, as well as in the background, the application uses information about the location (geolocation) of the technical device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) through which the services are used. This information is necessary to perform the main function of the application - providing information about the weather forecast. Without location information, it is not possible to use the application.

The user gives his consent to receive geolocation information (in particular, when launching the application for the first time). The user has the opportunity to choose the method of obtaining location information (either automatically using application services or specifying it independently).

In the process of using services, personal data is used for the following purposes:

Geolocation is the only personal data that the application uses. No other personal or confidential information is collected, processed, transmitted or stored by the application.

PURPOSE AND PROCESSING OF USER DATA

Collection and processing of user data is carried out both when using the mobile application and in the background mode.

The application uses user data to be able to better represent the needs and interests of its customers/users. In particular, the owner of the application uses such information to maintain communication with the user, provide technical support, analyze the operation of the application and services in order to improve them, improve the usability of the application and services, protect information processed by services, notify the user about changes in the operation of services and input new products and services, as well as for marketing, advertising purposes and other cases provided for in this Policy.

Thus, user data about clients within the scope of this Policy is data that is collected automatically by the application during the client’s use of the application services (including, but not limited to): model of the technical device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) through which the services are used, version of the operating system installed on the device, changeable identifier of this device, the screen size of this a device and the pixel density of this screen, the language of the user interface of the device.

When using the services, user data is used for the following purposes:

POSSIBILITY OF CHOICE

The application allows the user to refuse automatic determination of the location (geolocation) of his device. In this case, the application will not receive up-to-date information about the device's geolocation.

PROTECTION AND STORAGE OF USER AND PERSONAL DATA

Data is stored on the server in a protected form using modern encryption methods. Data transmission to the server is carried out by the mobile application using the encrypted HTTPS protocol.

The owner of the application takes all possible security measures to ensure the protection of information regarding clients (users) from unauthorized attempts to access it by third parties, change it, disclose it or delete it, as well as other types of improper use. The application owner is constantly improving the methods of collecting, storing and processing data, including physical security measures in order to counter unauthorized access to the application systems.

User data is stored on the server for 90 days. After this period, user and personal data are automatically deleted.
